Wellness Examinations & Vaccinations

We believe that prevention is the key to having a healthy and happy pet. We believe all pets should have an annual checkup. Our hospital offers complete annual wellness screens, puppy and kitten programs, and geriatric checkups.

These programs include appropriate vaccination schedules to suit your pet’s lifestyle and age.

Laboratory

We have a full in-house laboratory encompassing tests such as complete hematology and blood chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal examinations.

We also utilize several outside laboratory resources when necessary for the most comprehensive care of your pets.

Diagnostic Imaging

Our hospital utilizes modern medical technology to provide the following exams:

Radiology

Radiographs are used to visualize the interior of your pet’s body using x-rays. It is a cost-effective means to perform an evaluation of the lungs, heart, and skeleton.

Ultrasound

Medical ultrasonography uses ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) to visualize soft tissue structures in your pet’s body in real-time.

Endoscope/Bronchoscope

Endoscopy means looking inside and typically refers to looking inside the body for medical reasons using an endoscope an instrument used to examine the interior of a hollow organ or cavity of the body. While bronchoscopy is a technique of visualizing the inside of the airways for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. An instrument (bronchoscope) is inserted into the airways, usually through the nose or mouth.

Surgery

We perform a variety of surgical procedures ranging from routine soft tissue surgeries to more complex and advanced surgeries. We are equipped with the latest in anesthetic monitoring, pain control, and surgical aftercare. We also use CO2 Laser for most of our procedures to speed recovery and alleviate pain. Procedures include:

Tissue

We perform a wide variety of soft tissue surgeries including spay, neuter, declaw, hernia repair, cancer surgery, bladder stone removal, stenotic nares repair, and eye surgery.

Orthopedics

We offer fracture repair, bone plating, cruciate repair, and femoral neck excision.

Pain Management

We believe strongly in pain control so your pet is as comfortable as possible after surgery. All surgery patients receive a pain injection before surgery recovery and pain medications may be sent home as needed.

Dental

Dental care for your pet is important to maintain overall health. If not checked regularly teeth problems can lead to other problems. Bad breath in your pet can be a warning sign to other issues. Tartar and infections in the mouth from bad dental hygiene can seed infections in other parts of your pet ranging from heart, kidneys, intestinal tract, and joints.

Regular check-ups and cleanings are a preventative measure you can take for your pet. We offer complete dental healthcare at our hospital. This ranges from annual dental cleaning using the latest in anesthesia, extractions, and at home prevention.

Internal Medicine

When your pet is sick, our hospital will utilize all of our resources to evaluate, diagnose, and treat your pet’s needs. Medical Diagnostics are accomplished by using a combination of laboratory data, radiographs, and ultrasound findings.

We have modern radiographic equipment (x-ray) that can be used for the diagnosis of many diseases. Video otoscopy allows the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the ear. In-house ultrasound equipment is used for abdominal ultrasonography.

Board-certified specialists are consulted at Auburn University or the University of Georgia on a case by case basis as needed or local specialists are used for referrals as needed.
